blue moon rising gorgish out to those guys they're pretty much a tiny house compound in Deep Creek Lake Maryland and coming up we have a treehouse building workshop July 13th a full day 12 hour course hands-on that I'm putting on with guest host Phil the plant from custom barns net check it out relax XCOM hey I'm Derek dietrichson from relax acts calm here outside Memphis Tennessee getting ready starts tomorrow freakin tiny house building in treehouse building I'm eight I might add blob of a workshop but we're here right now with one of the houses that students our attendees of the workshop will be seeing a house built by Joe Everson of tiny happy homes one lived in by Ricky so thank you because they tore this house it's actually kind of windy so we probably show them the outside real quick but audio-wise I think where you lose most of it so let's actually head inside I'll show them some pictures as we make the journey but Ricky I understand you've lived here now for about three months or so I like the door man one for months or more now a quick back story what brought you to the concept or the notion or what was the attraction to going tiny living in a tiny tiny house it's smaller you know they always say this in all the videos a news piece is smaller than most people's closets uh I don't see it that way I see it just economically makes sense mortgage 30 years tied down not me now working Karcher I've been there done that didn't work out the freedom the possibility anyway of you know tiny well you were telling me we were talking before you're saying you're a very a very transient gentleman you know your big fish fan and uh yeah you traveling fastest yeah yeah so I mean this being on wheels I guess it gives you that whole kind of free free spirit I guess you'd say maybe yeah okay now has it been pretty I got a ask and this is something everyone would ask has have been very challenging getting acclimated to living in something old something that's how many square feet is this you know offhand uh oh yeah big enough I mean I've had to guess let's call it a hundred twenty square feet and a loft a difficult let's say you adapt to it um like a you know first couple days you you know you'll set up like you would and then you want to eat like you have to change things you get used to where this is where that is you know where you seem like a pretty in your loft before you you know at nights yeah on down the middle and I a little things like that you rearrange to your convenience you know niggas really I mean it works out great for me okay you seem to be a pretty I was hard on me to cut you off you seem to be a pretty minimal guy though so I guess that would work to your yeah I I've tried to you know keep it simple that's what life is to me I'm gonna crane up with the Inspector Gadget arms they can kind of see the loft up here what's it like sleeping in a loft oh no because I know I hear some people like I could never do it well to me it seems pretty cozy up there I was six three yeah you're a big dude I feel at home okay very much I really enjoy it I did occasionally I'll sleep down pulled off the loss watch a movie me fall asleep you know puppy yeah oh yeah a tiny house honey dog I should that you can focus the whole video right there dama forget Deacon Ricky oh what a cool dog okay so I'm gonna actually just as I kind of look around here feel free to interject with any uh you know I just want to show the shelving first cuz they're shelving built-in everywhere that that Joe made sure to include you're mentioning that like futon like bed couch / bed which has you said storage I imagine actually looks like there's a ton of storage another right ah okay look at this yeah yeah you're not even using this everything I own is right here and right here I mean the funny thing is most people are always worried like where would I keep all my stuff you have all the surplus of storage yeah you have to kind of realize what stuff is yeah what how important it is to you the stuff doesn't make the man or a woman as they say here's that little liking it's not a lawful little storage is he a recording loft you got run the ladder yeah listen over I like how you just use that for like you know open space uh no whoa is that you'd think he'd get in the way or look like it's clutter but it doesn't because you don't have that much hang in there but I'll probably actually tuck some more stuff away under here right now this is settling in like I said adapting yeah yeah like you said talked about the beginning this is a pretty I just want to show some of the even you know the more detailed or little features here that's a really cool thing like Joe's got a good sense of style with a lot of the stuff he doesn't Kristin to here the white pops yeah definitely so this is a pretty thin light ladder what's it like you know ascending this to get the loft I mean I think you have the advantage cuz you're six foot three but uh yeah this is nice that tucks right out of the way to three steps up for me but yeah I eat it's another thing I've adapted to I clean my clothes and I stand on the top of it I'm tuck them away with no problem you know at first you know you just get a feel for it you know I mean I did yeah I had no problem adjusting to it I climb up there and just you know the time we go to bed you just lay down what am I like it it's it's visual space cozy for me people say how can you sleep up there for me it's just it's comfortable as long as your shoes aren't too stinky you're good oh you're doing this yeah it's like Little Joe's good with putting all these little hidden spaces in it like that oh sweet nice all right yeah you got a lot of shoes man that's the one thing you haven't cut back on Oh every man has I like you I like my fans I got a little table behind here okay a little fold-out you know it seems really lightweight – yeah neat little kitchen here just like food prep area just two burners with a view of another small house in the background and there's the a-frame you saw in one of the other videos that I designed the Jonas team built let's see fridge down here these floors are nice yeah look now with the black floor is here today only yeah yeah it kind of has that like little relief or the little ribbed effect right I want insert any jokes there um quite a bit of cabinetry will sink Jameson I mean when downsizing it's one thing you can't get rid of string cheese instead oh yeah the bathroom because they have had breeders for the bathroom people like literally show up my at my doorstep engine parks in before kisses okay kind of posting toilet how I won't get Italy I won't zoom into it there yeah it's better there question how do you Deb you don't have to go other ways yeah okay here's this is cool cuz it's like a yeah you know 210 yeah like a stock almost er right and then we have a peg got it almost here and put some magnets around here oh so the shower is coming up right and get the waterfalls oh hi yeah cuz you know what I've been is the same deal here I've been a lot of showers where you're punching down my Quasimodo to get your hair wet it's just you're right here annoying it's like what my chest is clean but the rest of me hissing all right hey man thank you so much for giving us the tour let him step around checking it out yeah again Joey Burson oh yeah Joey Burson want to plug him it's Tennessee tiny homes.com and tiny happy homes yeah calm once you got a thanks man thank you again I'm Derek Peterson from relaxed calm we'll see you later Ricky
